Box Plot

A box plot, sometimes referred to as a box-and-whiskers plot, shows a set of data that was measured on an interval scale. It shows the shape of the distribution, central value, and variability through a graph that consists of upper and lower quartiles, maximum and minimum values (which are the whiskers), and the median. Values that are beyond the maximum and minimum values are called 'outliers', and are shown with an asterisk, as in the picture above.
