Cartographic Animation

Cartographic animation is a map that incorporates animation, or moving images. These types of maps are able to incorporate time; something that static maps can't. Most cartographic animations are used to show a greatly changed scale, and many times the change is sped up or slowed down depending on the goal of the map.  In this cartographic animation, the waves that spread across the Indian Ocean after the 2004 Tsunami are shown.
